Wynoochee Hydroelectric Project,

The Wynoochee Dam Hydroelectric Project refitted an existing U.S. Army Corp of Engineers flood control dam located on the Wynoochee River in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains in Grays Harbor County, 35 miles north of Montesano, Washington.

 

The Corps of Engineers built the dam in 1972 to provide industrial water storage for the City of Aberdeen, flood control, and fisheries flow enhancement. The hydroelectric project was commissioned on January 7, 1994
